Instructions to Graduands

General
If you have indicated your intention to attend the Graduation ceremony, the following instructions will be helpful as you prepare for the occasion. Wherever applicable, please advise your guests accordingly.

Punctuality
Graduands must report punctually at the Auditorium, Tay Eng Soon Convention Centre (Block A Level 4) for registration.

Registration will close upon commencement of the ceremony. The college reserves the right not to present graduands on stage.

To avoid disruption to the ceremony, once seated, leaving the auditorium is not permitted until the ceremony has concluded. Graduands are advised to go to the washrooms before entering the auditorium.

Invitation of Guests
You are welcome to invite a maximum of 2 guests to attend the Graduation Ceremony. Due to the limited seating capacity, we may not be able to accommodate all requests. Priority will be given to parents/guardians.

You will need to register your guests (maximum of 2 guests) when you submit your attendance registration online.

Tickets for your registered guests will be issued during registration on the day of the graduation ceremony.

Guests who are not registered will be seated in the Hall to view the proceedings via live streaming.

Graduate Attendance Card

A Graduate Attendance Card will be given to you at the Registration Counter when you come for your graduation ceremony. Please register outside the Auditorium to collect the card.

The Graduate Attendance Card is important as it has a barcode which records your name and awards  (if any) and it is required when you are presented on stage.

Graduate Robing
All graduands attending the ceremonies will have to wear their graduation attire. After registration, you can put on your graduation attire at the robing room before proceeding to the Auditorium where the ceremony will be held.

Ceremony Proceedings
The proceedings during each ceremony will be as follows:

  1. Academic Procession
  2. Commencement of Ceremony
  3. Speech by Principal
  4. Presentation of Certificates
  5. Academic Recession
  6. End of Ceremony
  7. Reception

During the Ceremony
After you have put on your graduation attire, please proceed to the Auditorium. All graduands should be seated at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony. At the entrance, the ushers will check your Attendance Card and show you to the seat.

The Graduate Attendance Card is required for the Ceremony Official to read out your name (and prizes, if any) when you are presented on stage. Thus, please keep your Attendance Card with you AT ALL TIMES.

When the ceremony begins, please stand up to welcome the academic procession.

When it is time for your graduating cohort to be presented on stage, the ushers will lead you up the stage. Please remember to hold the Attendance Card in hand give it to the marshal manning the barcode reader.

As the names of the graduands will be read out in the sequence that the Attendance Cards are scanned, do not change position with your fellow graduands after you have given your Attendance Card to the marshal.

At the end of each ceremony, please follow the instructions of the ushers to leave the Auditorium after the academic recession.

After the Ceremony
All graduates and guests are invited to a reception immediately after each ceremony.

Do come and mingle with friends, faculty and staff.

Congratulations and have an enjoyable time!
