~The first Show Choir in Singapore ~

ITE Show Choir was formed in 2009 by a group of student performers from the ITE Centre for Music and The Arts (CeMTA) musical “Grease”. Over the years, the group has grown to become one of the leading and most sought-after Show Choirs in Singapore. Coached by vocal instructor Ms. Irene Jansen, the group has an extensive list of repertoire including Jazz Swing, Retro, Popular classics and Hip-Hop numbers. In 2013, the ITE Show Choir represented ITE and Singapore at the Busan Choral Festival and Competition at Korea, obtaining a Silver award in the Ensemble category.

In 2009, the ITE Show Choir embarked on its first well-received performance at the Esplanade Concourse. Subsequently, the group performed annually at several Esplanade platforms – YFest, At The Concourse, Flipside, Voices Festival and Celebrate December.

Active in the local entertainment scene, the ITE Show Choir was prominently featured in the Ricola Show Choir Challenge 2010 advertisement screened at all GV cinemas. The group also performed at several Mediacorp shows; Singapore Idol Finals 2009, Suria’s Muzika Ekstravaganza 2011 and Suria’s Simfoni Lebaran 2011. The group was invited to perform at the Straits Times’ ChildAid Charity Concert 2012 and 2014.

On campus, the Show Choir was featured in Vocal XChange 2011 and 2014, an annual Vocal showcase featuring singing talents from CeMTA.

Some notable local arts talents who were members of the group includes Syirah Jusni, actress and winner of Mediacorp Suria’s Anugerah Skrin 2010; Fathin Amira, Singapore Idol Top 8 2009/Asia’s Got Talent Semi Finalist 2015; Vester Ng, Channel U actor; and Kamsani Jumahat, Mediacorp Suria’s Anugerah 2009 Top 5 and winner of World Karaoke Championships 2014. Many of these alumni members still maintain close associations with the ITE Show Choir family.
